University of Louisville field hockey coach Pam Bustin has announced the Cardinals' 2010 spring schedule.
"This spring presents a fabulous field hockey opportunity for Team Cardinal," said Bustin. "We open our competitive spring season with a 10 day trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina to take on four of the city's top club teams. We look forward to the opportunity to train and play in the country that claims the second ranked team in the world. The Cardinals are familiar with the Argentine style of play from watching video of the National Team, Las Leonas, on numerous occasions from various international tournaments. Now, the Cards will be able to experience this dynamic style of play first hand!"
The Cards will open the spring in Buenos Aires, Argentina March 12-21. The Cards will compete in four matches against top clubs from Buenos Aires. Matches will be held on March 15-16 and March 18-19. When they return, the Cardinals will travel to Indiana University for a March 27 matchup. On April 10, Louisville will host a full-field play day. The tournament includes: Iowa, Indiana, Miami, Michigan State, Missouri State and Ohio. The following day, U of L will host a Seven vs. Seven tournament which features Bellarmine, Indiana, Iowa, Ohio, Miami, Michigan State, Missouri State and Saint Louis.
The Cards will close the spring season on April 16 with a club team scrimmage at 7 pm at Trager Stadium.
