
Former Cardinal Closing in on PGA National Assistants Championship

Louisville, Ky.- - Former University of LouisvilleAll-American, Adam Rainaud from South Hadley, Mass, finished tied for third this past weekend in the 34th PGA National Assistants Championship held at the PGA Golf Club in Port St Lucie, Florida. Rainaud, competing in this event for this first time, posted rounds of 70-68-71-71=280(-8) to finish three shots behind the winner Frank Bensel.
Rainaud, who graduated in 2008, captured the 2008 Mobile Bay Intercollegiate his senior season and led the Cardinals to a 10th place finish in the 2008 NCAA National Championships held that year in West Lafayette, Ind. His 13th place finish individually at the Championship stills ranks as one of the best performances ever recorded in Cardinal history.
Rainaud is currently an Assistant Golf Professional at the Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Mass.
