The tenth-ranked University of Louisville field hockey team will go back on the road to face BIG EAST opponent Providence on Oct. 23 and take a break from league play with a game at New Hampshire on Oct. 24.
Team Cardinal (11-5, 4-1 BIG EAST) is led on offense by senior captain Nicole Youman's 48 points (15G, 18A). She also leads the league in goals points and assists. Sophomore Amber Thomas follows with 18 points (8G, 2A). Sophomore goalkeeper Erin Conrad (11-5) carries a 1.41 goals-against average and has 52 saves and five shutouts on the season.

Scouting the Friars: Providence enters the week with a 4-12 record after Wednesday's 2-1 loss to Brown University. The Friars have an 0-4 mark in BIG EAST Conference play and are seventh in league standings. Ashlyn Hudson leads the team with seven points (3G, 1A). Shannon DiStefano and Kathi Weidman have combined for a 2.26 goals against average.

Scouting the Wildcats: New Hampshire brings an 11-5 record into the weekends and is receiving votes in the Kookaburra/NFHCA coaches poll. The Wildcats are coming off of a 2-1 loss to No. 13 Boston College, prior to that, they beat No. 15 Boston University 3-2. Whitney Frates leads the team with 26 points (10G, 6A), Hayley Rausch follows with 22 points (7G, 8A). Katherine Nagengast (11-5) carries a 1.96 goals-against average.
