
Staedt Named to CAA Silver Anniversary Team

University of Louisville lacrosse coach Lisa Staedt has been named to the Colonial Athletic Association's Silver Anniversary team.
Staedt, who played for James Madison from 2000-03 was a three-time IWLCA All-American and a Tewaaraton Trophy finalist in 2003. She was named CAA Player of the Year in 2002 and 2003 and was the 2003 CAA Tournament MVP. She still owns JMU records for ground balls in a season (76) and a career (187).
The Colonial Athletic Association has announced its women's lacrosse Silver Anniversary team. All 25 players on the prestigious squad were All-America selections and 10 earned CAA Player of the Year honors.
As part of its 25th Anniversary celebration in 2009-10, the CAA is recognizing Silver Anniversary teams in 21 championship sports. The teams were selected by a panel of current and former coaches in the conference.
Women's lacrosse has been a championship sport in the CAA since 1992 when William and Mary earned the league's first title. Former member Loyola was extremely successful during the first decade, winning six conference championships from 1993-2002. James Madison has also captured six CAA women's lacrosse titles, taking home the trophy in 1997, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2006. Towson has won three of the past four CAA championships, including back-to-back titles in 2008 and 2009. Old Dominion claimed a CAA championship in 1995 and Hofstra was the conference champion in 2007.
