With a trio of Cardinals finishing among the top 11 individually, the University of Louisville men's golf team posted a third-place finish at the 2009 Wolverine at Radrick Farms. The Cardinals, who were +2 over two rounds,  fired the low round of the day (278) to move up to third. The Cardinals finished 16 shots behind tournament winner Michigan and nine shots behind second-place Arkansas. The Cardinals were 8-under par for the tournament.
Sophomore Justin Dorward, who was in 10th place after two rounds, fired 67 on Sunday to finish in sixth place. He carded 71-71-67=209 to lead the Cardinals. Sophomores Riley Wheeldon and Chris Biuso were the two other Cardinals to finish in the top 11. Wheeldon fired 73-70-70=213, while Biuso carded 75-70-68=213.
Junior Karsten Clements tied for 44th overall after he shot 75-76-73=224 and Aaron Sherry rounded out the top five for the Cardinals with his 61st-place finish after shooting 74-74-80=228.
The Cardinals return to action at the Jerry Pate Invitational on Oct. 12-13 in Birmingham, Ala.
