LOUISVILLE - - University of Louisville senior men's golfer Adam Hadwin was named to the PING All-America Honorable Mention team, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) following the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship. Hadwin led the Cardinals to the NCAA regionals, where the Cardinals finished in sixth place overall and just missed qualifying for the NCAA Championships.
Hadwin's career came to an impressive close at the regional, carding 74-71-71=216, which was at even par for the tournament. Hadwin finished in a tie for seventh-place.
The product of Abbortsford, British Columbia, won the BIG EAST title and was a first team All-BIG EAST Conference performer. He also earned All-BIG EAST accolades in 2007 and 2008.
Hadwin finished his final campaign as the school recorder for season stroke average with a 71.47 average, breaking the old mark of 72.07 by Derek Fathauer last season.
Freshman Riley Wheeldon posted the best season ever by a Cardinal freshman, posting a 72.87 stroke average and a pair of top five finishes.
