
Bustanoby Earns Academic All-District Honors

University of Louisville field hockey goalkeeper Heather Bustanoby was selected to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District At-Large first team.
To be eligible for All-District status, players must have at least a 3.30 GPA with at least sophomore standing, both academically and athletically. They also must have played in at least 50 percent of the team's games. All first-team selections have the opportunity to be selected as a national Academic All-American. At-Large team members are selected from athletes from the following women's sports: Bowling, Crew, Fencing, Field Hockey, Golf, Gymnastics, Ice Hockey, Lacrosse, Rifle, Skiing, Swimming, Tennis, Water Polo.
Bustanoby (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) carries a 3.96 GPA while majoring in Psychology and Communications. She finished her junior season with a 14-7 record and a 1.60 goals-against-average and four shutouts. She earned All-BIG EAST Conference second team honors and is a Longstreth/NFHCA All-West Region selection.
The Cardinals finished the 2008 season with a 14-7 overall record, including a 5-1 mark in the BIG EAST Conference en route to earning a share of their third straight regular season title. U of L spent the entire season in the NFHCA top 20, reaching as high as No. 11 and earning their second trip to the NCAA tournament.
