The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 4-0 to host No. 66-ranked Wichita State in a weather shortened format in the first round of the Via Christi Collegiate Classic at Wichita State. The match was moved indoors after snow and sleet iced over the outdoor facility.

Louisville got on the board first, winning the No. 3 doubles match when U of L's Amelia Harris and Sarah Miller knocked off WSU's Florentina Hanisch and Torrie Browning, 8-4, before the Shockers stormed back. Lenore Lazaroiu and Lutfiana Budiharto beat UL's Lauren Imre and Natalia Baez by an 8-4 decision to win the No. 2 match, and Anna Egorova and Stephanie Dalmacio overcame an early deficit to defeat UL's Lindsey Jones and Jo-Ann Van Aerde, 8-6, to secure the doubles point for the Shockers.

Anna Egorova picked up the Shockers' first singles win with a 6-1, 6-1 straight-set victory over Louisville's Lindsey Jones in the No. 1 singles match. Lenore Lazaroiu followed with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Amelia Harris in the No. 6 match, while Torrie Browning secured the win for the Shockers with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Natalia Baez in the No. 4 match. Due to time constraints, the final three matches were left unfinished.
