The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 4-3 to BIG EAST opponent Marquette in Milwaukee Friday evening.

The Cardinals started out strong by taking the doubles point. The No. 1 pair of Bianca Gorbea and Natalia Baez won 8-3 over Paola Calderon and Kylie Moore with Lindsey Jones and Jo-Ann Van Aerde winning 8-6 over Christina Ruiz and Robin Metzler.

Bianca Gorbea won her singles match with a 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 marathon over Ruiz. U of L picked up its other point from Natalia Baez, who defeated Rachael Hush 6-4, 6-2.

The Cardinals play Iowa tomorrow in Milwaukee.
