
Men's Golf Finishes Third at Rio Pinar

ORLANDO, Fla - Playing their first tournament of the spring, the University of Louisville men's golf team placed third Tuesday at the Rio Pinar Invitational at the 6,978-yard par-72 Rio Pinar Country Club.
Central Florida's team total of 851 comfortably out-paced second place UT-Arlington's 865 and topped all 21 competing teams in the three-round event. Louisville rounded out the top three with a score of 870. It's the Knights' second straight title.
Freshman Justin Dorward moved up to sixth place after shooting a 2-under par 70 on Tuesday. He shot 69-74-70=213 for the three rounds.
Freshman Riley Wheeldon also put together a strong finish for the entire tournament. He tied for 11th after entering place in a tie for third place. However, he shot 76 on Tuesday to finish with 73-68-76=217.
Senior Adam Hadwin moved up to 22nd-place with his 69--77-73=219, freshman Connor Arendall placed 46th with his 72-74-77=223. Freshman Chris Biuso tied for 79th with 77-76-76=229.
The Cardinals will be back in action on March 6-8 at the USF Intercollegiate.
