Men's Golf Wins BIG EAST Match Play Title

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. - - The second-seeded University of Louisville men's golf team defeated Notre Dame in the championship of The Match Play on Sunday morning, 3.5 to 2.5, to close out the its fall season. The Cardinals had downed Rutgers and DePaul on Saturday to advance to the finals at the Pine Needles Golf Course.

Chris Biuso lost his match to Josh Sandman, 2 & 1 for Notre Dame's only outright win of the championship match.

Justin Dorward defeated Carl Santos-Ocampo 4 & 2, while Aaron Sherry bested Doug Fortner 3 & 2. Riley Wheelson, Karsten Clements and Lewis Kirton all halved their matches.
