- The Cardinal defense forced Tennessee Tech into 13 plays for negative yardage, eight in the first half.
- U of L's defense limited Tennessee Tech to 176 total yards and just 33 rushing yards. It was the fewest yards the Cardinals have allowed since also holding Cincinnati to 176 total yards in a 24-14 loss on Nov. 7, 2002. It was the fewest yards the Cardinals allowed on the ground since limiting Temple to 16 rushing yards in a 62-0 victory on Sept. 9, 2006. Last week against Kentucky, U of L limited the Wildcats to 210 total yards and just 63 rushing yards
- The Cardinal offense produced a season-high 451 yards. U of L gained over 400 yards in total offense in nine of its 12 games last season.
- Five Cardinals produced the first touchdowns of their careers today: RB Victor Anderson, DT Adrian Grady, LB Brandon Heath, TE Pete Nochta and WR Troy Pascley. PK Chris Philpott converted a points-after-touchdown to score the first point of his collegiate career.
- RB Victor Anderson produced his first career 100-yard rushing game, gaining 114 yards on 12 carries in the second game of his career.
- The Louisville defense has been responsible for scores in each of its first two games. Senior DT Adrian Grady returned a fumble 19 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter, his first career TD. Last game against Kentucky, redshirt freshmen DE William Savoy was credited with a sack in the end zone, providing the Cardinals' only two points of the game on a safety.
- Louisville amassed 202 yards in total offense in the first quarter, just three yards short of its entire game total against Kentucky last week (205). The Cardinal defense was impressive as well, limiting the Golden Eagles to just 16 yards on 12 plays in the first quarter. Of those 12 plays, three were for negative yardage and two were for no gain.
- LB Chris Campa made his first career start at linebacker for the Cardinals and recorded his first career interception with 11:15 left in the second quarter. LB James Bryant also produced his first career interception with 6:29 remaining in the third quarter. Both turnovers led to U of L touchdowns.
- WR Troy Pascley caught a 35-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter from Hunter Cantwell. It was Pascley's first career reception and touchdown of his career.
- CB Karldell Dunning and DE Greg Scruggs made their first appearances as true freshmen.
- C Eric Wood made his 39th straight start at center, while tackle George Bussey and DT Earl Heyman made their 27th consecutive starts.
- RB Brock Bolen scored a pair of first half touchdowns. It marks the second time in his career that he has scored two touchdowns in a game, the last coming in a 41-38 victory over Rutgers on Nov. 29, 2007.
- The Golden Eagles nearly gained more on one 44-yard completion in the second quarter than it did on the rest of their 31 plays in the first half (49 yards). Tennessee Tech had 93 offensive yards in the first half.
- The following players did not play in the game due to injury: DT L.T. Walker, WR Chris Vaughn, LB Darius Mann and WR Scott Long.
