LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville football program and head coach Steve Kragthorpe kicked off the 2008 season on Saturday with the annual Fan Day and Media Day activities at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium and the Howard L. Schnellenberger Football Complex. The Cards officially opened practice for the upcoming season on Tuesday evening.
On Saturday, players and coaches met with members of the local, regional and national media to preview the Cards' second season under the leadership of Kragthorpe. Prior to the media day responsibilities, Cardinal players and coaches met with the UofL fans and signed autographs during the Fan Day activities.
U of L opens the 2008 season on Sunday, Aug. 31 against rival Kentucky at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium in Louisville. The annual showdown for the Governor's Cup will kick-off at 3:30 p.m. ET and will be televised nationally by ESPN.
