Fathauer Advances in US Amateur

PINEHURST, N.C. -- - Derek Fathauer of the University of Louisville men's golf team won both of his matches Thursday during match play of the US Amateur Open in Pinehurst, N.C.

Fathauer will play again Friday morning in the Elite Eight for the second straight season. He will play Drew Kittleson from Arizona.

Fathauer won his first round match Thursday over Jhonatta Vegas of Venezuela 1 up.

Adam Hadwin lost his first round match 1 up in 19 holes to Mike McCoy of West Des Moines, Iowa.
