
Bustin Meets with Reporters to Preview Beijing Olympics

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville head field hockey coach Pam Bustin met with reporters Thursday at the Yum! Center to discuss the upcoming 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. This marks the first time the United States has competed in the Olympic Games since Bustin was a player in the 1996 Atlanta Games.
Since late 2005 head coach Pam Bustin has been an assistant coach for the USA Field Hockey National Team. All the training and travel paid off when the USA earned an Olympic bid at the April qualifying tournament in Kazan, Russia.
The USA Field Hockey Women's Olympic Team opens competition in Beijing against 2007 Pan American Games champion Argentina on Sunday, August 10. The match will be broadcast live on MSNBC, paired with a simulcast on Universal HD. The four remaining pool matches are scheduled for the USA network and USA HD. The U.S. will face Japan, Germany, New Zealand and Great Britain in pool play.
All five USA Field Hockey pool matches and both medal matches will be televised by NBC during the network's unprecedented 3,600 hours of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games coverage.
All Olympic field hockey contests will be webcast on NBC Olympics.com. NBCOlympics.com will feature approximately 2,200 total hours of live streaming Olympic broadband video coverage, the first live online Olympic coverage in the United States.
