
Men's Golf Tied For Eighth at NCAA Regional

Columbus, Ohio - - The University of Louisville men's golf team responded with a 293 to place in a tie for eighth at in the second round of the 2008 NCAA Central Regional. Wake Forest is in first place at 9-over par, while Alabama is in second place at 19-over par at the regional hosted by Ohio State University at its Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio. The Cardinals are 17 shots off the pace and are currently tied with Florida.
The No. 28th-ranked Cardinals are one of 27 teams vying for one of the 10 spots that will advance from the May 15-17 regional into the NCAA finals which are May 28-31 in West Lafayette, Ind.
The Cardinals shot eight shots better on Friday to make up some ground after finishing the first round in a tie for 12th.
Junior Adam Hadwin fired a second-round score of 72 and is tied for 18th overal, while senior teammate Adam Rainaud also fired a 72 and is tied for 29th. Senior Derek Fathauer, who started the day in a tie for 11th place, shot 77 to fall to 37th place, while his brother Daryl responded with a 73 and is in 59th. Sophomore Karsten Clements shot 76 and is tied for 120th.
The Cardinals will begin third round play at 8:05 a.m. on Saturday morning.
