
Men's Golf Finishes Seventh at Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio - - The University of Louisville men's golf got its final tuneup before next week's BIG EAST Championships by finishing seventh at the 39th-annual Robert Kepler Intercollegiate Sunday. The Cardinals shot 297 during the final round for a 54-holes total of 917 (+67). Playing conditions were not ideal as the par 71, 7,455-yard Scarlet Course was cast under gray skies and temperatures in the low 40's.
Colorado led the 14-team field on the final 18 holes with a score of 294 to win the event with a three-round total of 900. Three strokes back was Michigan State, while Kent State edged Ohio State by one stroke for third. Ryan Brehm of the Spartans was the medalist with rounds of 73-72-73 for a 5-over 218 total to win by four strokes.
The Cardinals were led by senior Adam Rainaud who tied for fifth overall with 77-75-71=223, while fellow senior Derek Fathauer was tied for seventh with his 75-78-71=224.
Daryl Fathauer was tied for 39th overall after shooting 79-76-79=234 and senior Andrew Freeman was tied for 58th after his 82-78-80=240.
Senior Adam Hadwin was also tied for 58th after shooting 83-81-76=240.
