MURRELS INLET, S.C. - - Senior Derek Fathauer of the University of Louisville men's golf team fired an even-under 72 on Monday to lead Louisville to a 17-over 306 in the final round of play at the General Jim Hackler Championship. The Cardinals shot 305-296-305=906 to finish in fifth-place at the par-72, 6,950-yard TPC of Myrtle Beach. Wake Forest claimed the tournament title at +33, while Florida State finished one stroke ahead of Duke.
Fathauer won the tournament after shooting 74-71-72=217 to win the tourney for the Cardinals for his second win of the season, while Adam Rainaud was tied for 20th after shooting 78-74-76=218, while Daryl Fathauer tied for 31st after shooting 80-71=76-230.
Adam Hadwin carded a 74-77-81=232, while Lewis Kirton tied for 58th after shooting 79-78-81+238 on the afternoon.
