
Rehder Tallies Winner in Second Overtime at Marquette

MILWAUKEE, Wisc. - Caitlin Rehder's goal two minutes into overtime lifted the University of Louisville women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over division-leading Marquette Friday at Valley Fields.
In the 6th minute, the Golden Eagles(9-5-2, 5-2-1 BIG EAST) turned a corner into a scoring chance, but Julia Victor's header went wide.
Minutes later, Kelli Debarge was turned away by Cardinal (6-5-3, 4-2-2 BIG EAST) keeper Katie Zoeller, who notched her second shutout of the season.
Shannon Smyth, returning to her hometown, placed a shot on net in the 29th minute for their first scoring chance of the match.
The final six minutes saw the teams exchange shots on goal, first by the Cards' Kelsey Hunydai and Lisa Philbin followed for the Eagles.
Shots were 5-3 Marquette in the first half, and shots on goal were even at two apiece.
The Cards put early pressure on in the second half. Katie Owen missed wide left and Giselle Mangal put a shot on in the 52nd minute that was turned away by Natalie Kulla.
Lisa Philbin had her shot kept out of the net by the Cardinal defense and the next two attempts by MU were blocked.
Louisville took one last shot at a regulation winner on a corner in the final minute, but Meredith Tolley's shot was wide.
The Cardinals set up a corner in the 92nd minute for the only scoring opportunity of the first overtime.
The game winner was netted in the 103rd minute with Hunyadi and Mangal setting up the sophomore.
The goal was Rehder's second of the season.
Louisville plays their final regular season road match, completing a four-game road stand and the toughest road swing of the season when they head to Tampa to face USF Sunday at 12:00 p.m. ET.
