Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville football team went indoors to elude the severe weather that hit the Louisville area around 5:00 p.m. The Cardinals went inside the Trager Indoor Practice facility, which might have been 10-15 degrees hotter than the 100+ tempertures outside.
The Cardinals worked for about two hours in full pads. They will have their final two-a-day on Friday morning before having their final scrimmage on Saturday. The scrimmage is completely closed.
The defense dominated the final two periods of team play. With the ball on their own two-yard line, Jon Russell sacked Brian Brohm in the end zone for a safety. On the next play, George Stripling was tackled for a safety with the second group.
Junior running back Sergio Spencer busted a 90-yard run for a touchdown against the second unit.
Brohm also fell in the end zone for a third safety.
On the last drive, the first offense did manage a first down when Gary Barnidge made a first down reception.
