Louisville, Ky. - - The University of Louisville men's golf team was selected as the fifth seed at the NCAA Central Regional in Chicago, Ill. on May 17-19. The Cardinals will be paired with No. 4 Tennessee and No. 6 Texas A&M.
It's the third straight appearance in the NCAA Regionals for the Cardinals under head coach Mark Crabtree, who was named the BIG EAST Coach of the Year. The Cardinals advanced to the West Regional in Tuscon, Ariz. last year.
The Cardinals earned the BIG EAST's automatic bid to the Regionals by winning the league title at the Cardinal Club on April 24. Louisville won their first BIG EAST Championship by defeating Notre Dame. Junior Daryl Fathauer earned BIG EAST medalist honors, as the Cardinals had the league's champion for the second straight season.
It was the Cardinals seventh win of the season and third of the spring.
