
Bustin to Coach USA Field Hockey AtaHolding Champions Challenge Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - - USA Field Hockey and women's national team coach Lee Bodimeade have announced that University of Louisville Field Hockey Coach Pam Bustin will coach the national team in the AtaHolding Champions Challenge, June 9-17 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The U.S. team is coming off a 1-0 win over world No. 2 ranked Argentina in the finals of Chile Four Nation Tournament
Bustin will lead the team after previously serving as an assistant coach of the USA at the 2006 World Cup Qualifier in Rome, the USA's 2007 Netherlands Tour and various other tournament and selection camps.
Bustin was a member of the U.S. field hockey team from 1989-96 and competed in the 1996 Olympics. Since that time served as an assistant coach for the national Under-18(1997), the Under-19 team (1998) and the Under-20 team (1999). In March 2005, Bustin was tabbed an assistant coach for the U.S. National Under-21 team which took the silver medal in the Pan American Games in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
In addition to her post on the national team coaching staff, Bustin will return to U of L for the 2007 season. During her nine-year tenure as Louisville's head coach, she led Cards to three conference regular season championships in two leagues (Mid-American Conference and BIG EAST), won two conference tournaments (2003 and 2004 MAC) and two NCAA post season appearances.
Louisville achieved its highest national ranking at No. 4 in 2002 and has been a mainstay among the nation's top 20 teams the past five years. U of L finished the 2006 season with a 12-8 record and a No. 15 ranking in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll. The Cards also clinched a share of the BIG EAST regular season championship with a 5-1 record in league play.
