Louisville, Ky. - Johnny Delprete from Palm City, Fla., has signed a national-letter-of-intent with the University of Louisville men's golf program.
Delprete is rated as the eighth best player in the state of Florida by national junior golf scoreboard. He qualified for the United States Junior Amateur Championship and was fifth at 2006 AGJA Lessings Classic with 68-72-66=206.
He placed 20th at FCWT National Championship and was second at PGA Junior Series@Westbrook with a three-under par 213.
"Johnny is a powerful player with tremendous upside," said head coach Mark Crabtree. "He has length and a good short game. He has a proven junior record and can shoot some very low scores. Much like Nick Mullhaupt(previous signee), Johnny will develop to be a very good collegiate player. I could not be more excited with his decision and what he will add to our team for next year."
