MOBILE, Ala. - The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 6-1 to the 47th-ranked University of South Alabama Thursday afternoon at the Bruce David Memorial Tennis Courts.

The Cardinals fall to 8-12 and USA improves to 13-7 on the spring.

The Cardinals fell behind early match when USA captured a pair of 8-3 victories at the Nos. 1 and 3 positions in doubles. The Cardinals won the No. 2 spot when Bianca Gorbea and Natalia Baez paired to beat Jelena Krivacevic and Rita Freitas 8-5, but it was not enough. At No. 1, U of L's Robyn White and Lauren Imre fell 8-3 to Adrianna Solarova and Sylvanie Spangenberg. USA's Michaela Babicova and Dijan Stanic clinched the point with a victory at No. 3 over Jo-Ann Van Aerde and Natalie Laszkowski.

In singles play, South Alabama picked up straight set wins at Nos. 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6. The Cardinals' Robyn White prevented the sweep for the Jags when she outlasted Sylvanie Spangenberg (4-6, 6-0, 7-6) at the No. 4 spot.
