
Women's Tennis Bears Down on Cincinnati 6-1

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The No. 75-ranked University of Louisville women's tennis team beat BIG EAST rival Cincinnati 6-1 in BIG EAST action at the Queen City Racquet Club.
U of L started the match by winning the doubles point. Lauren Imre and Robyn White won No. 1 doubles 8-4 over Hannah Hinton and Jenny Rowen. Natalia Baez and Bianca Gorbea won at No. 2 before UC's Rachel Owens and Elizabeth Young teamed at No. 3 doubles to beat Natalie Laszkowski and Jo-Ann Van Aerde, 8-4.
UL dominated the singles matches, winning five in straight-sets, dropping more than four games in just one of those. . Imre had her hands full at No. 1 in the first when Hinton took her to a first-set tie-breaker at the No. 1 spot before regrouping to win 6-1 in the second. Laszkowski won easily at No. 3, defeating Valeriya Dandik 6-2, 6-1. Gorbea beat Alizee Paradis 6-2, 6-2 at No.4. Van Aerde rolled 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 and Baez beat Elizabeth Young 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5. Owens posted UC's only win, beating Robyn White at No. 2, 6-2, 6-4.
