MOBILE, Ala. -- - Junior Derek Fathauer of the University of Louisville men's golf team shot a second round 66 to sit in third place at the USA Spring Invitational at the Heron Lakes Country Cub in Mobile, Ala.
The Cardinals are in fourth place after the first two rounds after shooting 294-285=579. Louisville is just 14 shots off the lead of Tennessee-Chattanooga and one-shot behind third-place South Alabama. The Cardinals were in eighth place after the first round, but moved up to fourth.
Derek shot a first round 73, but came back with a stellar 66 to move into third place. Junior Daryl Fathauer shot 72-71=143 to stand in 11th place after the first day, while sophomore Adam Hadwin in tied for 28th at 74-73=147.
Junior Andrew Freeman is tied for 37th after carding a pair of 75's and freshman Lewis Kirton is tied for 58th after shooting 80-78=158.
The third and final round begins on Tuesday morning.
