Men's Golf Leads After Two Rounds

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The Louisville men's golf team, which is coming off a two-week break returned to action on Saturday, shooting a 567 to lead after the first two rounds at the Mission Inn Collegiate Invitational. The tournament, hosted by Xavier at Mission Inn Resort's El Campeón Course in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., concludes with 18 holes on Sunday.
Louisville is the only team under par. UNCG (580), Eastern Michigan (581), Marquette (581) and Charleston Southern (584) round out the top five in the 16-team field. The Cardinals feasted on El Campeón's par-fives, shooting a tournament-best 12-under as a team on Saturday.
Junior Daryl Fathauer carded rounds of 67 and 73 to stand in a tie for fourth, while sophomore Adam Hadwin posted a 73 and 68 to sit in a tie for eighth.
Junior Andrew Freeman shot 72-70=142 and is tied for ninth, while Derek Fathauer is in 16th place after shooting 73-71. Freshman Lewis Kirton is tied for 62nd.
Sunday's final round is set for an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
