Men's Golf Finishes Fourth in Spring Opener

ORLANDO, Fla.-- - The University of Louisville men's golf team opened the spring season with a fourth-place finish overall at Rio Pinar Intercollegiate

The Cardinals a team total of 289-294-293=876 at the par-72, 6,978 yard layout at Rio Pinar Country Club.

All BIG EAST junior Daryl Fathauer posted the best score for the Cardinals, shooting 73-71 72-216. He fired a third-round score of 72 to finish in a tie for fifth. Sophomore Adam Hadwin tied for 25th after shooting 73-76-72=221. Junior Derek Fathauer shot a 78 in the third round to finish in a tie for 41st place 73-72-78=223.

Junior Andrew Freeman tied for 54th with 79-75-71=225 and freshman Lewis Kirton tied for 72nd after carding 70-80-79=229.

Louisville will return to action in two weeks at the Mission Inn Invitational on March 10-11.
