Field Hockey to Host 2007 Junior Cardinal Cup

The University of Louisville field hockey team will host the fifth annual Junior Cardinal Cup April 3-4 at Trager Stadium. The 5th and 6th grade tournament will take place April 3 from 5:00-8:30 p.m. and the 7th and 8th grade session is April 4 from 5:00 -8:30 p.m.
The tournament is open to teams or individuals in grades 5-8 with a cost of $25 per individual or $200 for a 10-member team. Registration ends on March 23.
The 2007 Junior Cardinal Cup coaching staff will consist of University of Louisville coaches and players and the tournament format features three games plus a cross-over game. The Junior Cardinal Cup also offers personalized coaching and feedback with a focus on off-ball awareness and movement, attacking with possession and defense organization.
U of L finished the 2006 season with a 12-8 record and a No. 15 ranking in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll. The Cards also clinched a share of the BIG EAST regular season championship with a 5-1 record in league play.
