
Field Hockey Signs Seven

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - University of Louisville field hockey coach Pam Bustin has announced that seven student-athletes have signed National Letters-of-Intent to continue their education and playing careers at the University of Louisville. Simone Attles, Nikki Auker, Julie Barton, Rachel Hollenbach, Tuliaan Lim, Karah Nall, and Nicole Youman will be eligible to compete in the fall of 2007.
"In addition to the seven mentioned signees, we also welcome two other talented freshmen," said Bustin. "These nine young women not only excel on the field, but also have proven to achieve equally in their studies. They will undoubtedly continue the pride and excellence that Team Cardinal has established academically. We welcome the exceptional class of 2011."
Simone Attles
Forward
Worthington, Ohio
Thomas Worthington HS
Attles, a forward from Worthington, Ohio was a three-year starter for Central Ohio League champion Thomas Worthington High School which went undefeated in the 2006 season and won the district championship in 2005. During her time at Thomas Worthington HS, she scored 33 career goals and dished out 16 assists. Attles, a team co-captain, was first team all-district selection and the team Offensive Player of the Year as a senior. She also received the Coaches Award and was selected to play in the Ohio Senior All-Star Game. In 2005, Attles participated in the USFHA National Futures tournament and earned the Gatorade Will to Win Award.

Nikki Auker

Lititz, Pa.
Warwick HS
Auker, a forward from Lititz, Pa., played for the three-time Lancaster-Lebanon Section I and League champion Warwick High School where she scored 31 goals in her career. As a senior, she earned first team all state honors and was a Lancaster-Lebanon Section I First Team All-Star. In addition, she was named to the Lancaster-Lebanon All-League team and earned Lancaster-Lebanon All-Academic honors.

Lower Dauphin HS
Barton, a midfielder/forward from Hummelstown, Pa., where she was a four year varsity starter for 2006 PIAA AAA State Champion Lower Dauphin High. In addition, her high school went undefeated, winning the Warwick Tournament, Falcon Classic Championship, Mid-Penn Keystone Championships, District 3 Championships. Barton was a three-time first team all-State selection and Mid-Penn all-star and a two time Falcon Classic all-star. As a senior, she was a first team all-American, first team all-Mideast Region, and the Mid-Penn Conference Player of the Year. Her junior year she earned Mid-Penn Conference Co-Player of the Year.

Selinsgrove HS
Hollenbach, a back/midfielder from Winfield, Pa., was a three-year varsity starter for the 2006 district and league champion Selinsgrove High School. She was a two-time Susquehanna Valley League first team selection and was named to the Pennsylvania Coaches All-State and Daily Item first team as a junior and senior. In 2006, Hollenbach was named the Daily Item's Co-Player of the Year and earned the Pennsylvania Coaches All-Academic first team.

Tuliann Lim
Midfielder
Chapel Hill, N.C.
East Chapel Hill HS
Lim, a midfielder from Chapel Hill, N.C., was a four-year varsity starter for two-time state champion and three-time East Regional champion East Chapel Hill High School. As a senior, she was the Conference Player of the Year, leading the league in goals and assists. She earned all-conference honors in 2004 and 2006. Lim participated in USFHA Future and played in the National Futures Tournament in 2005 and 2006. She was selected for the 2006 Futures Elite camp and played in the National Indoor Tournament and the National Field Hockey Festival from 2003-06.

"Tuli is our latest star to become a Cardinal from the state of North Carolina along with current player Marie Claire Heller. Tuli brings with her great ball handling skills and intuitive passing abilities. We anticipate a fantastic future for Tuli as she becomes more comfortable and familiar with the speed of the college game."
Karah Nall
Back/Midfielder
Louisville, Ky.
Assumption HS
Nall, a back/midfielder from Louisville, Ky., is a three-year varsity starter for 2005 state champion Assumption High School. As a senior, the Assumption team captain and played for the National Hockey Festival Pool E champions. Nall was a two-time NFHCA High School Region All-American and three-time all-state and all-county team member. As a junior, she played for the National Hockey Festival Pool H champion team. She also played for the National Hockey Festival pool champions as a sophomore.

"Karah is our newest addition to our long list of Coach Debbie Judd's Assumption High School players to become Cardinals. Karah's strong tackling abilities and dedication to the game have earned her a place on her hometown roster. We are excited to develop Karah's game to the Division I level as she represents her University of Louisville. Many former Cards come from Assumption High School, some of the more recent ones include: Stacy Becht, Becca Clary, Angie Frame and 2002 West Regional selection Joanie Frame."
Nicole Youman
Midfielder/Back
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
Hurlstone Agricultural HS Glenfield
Youman, a midfielder/back from Sydney, Australia, was a member of the New South Wales U21 team from 2005-06 and is currently playing for the NSW Arrows of the Australia National Hockey League. In 2004, she was a member of the NSW U18 team and was the top goal scorer of the national tournament. During that time she also played for the Esquires Hockey Club, Sydney's Women's Hockey First Grade Premiership. She was a member of the Northern Territory U18 team in 2003. In 2002, Youman played for the Australia U16 merit team and received the New England, Junior Division I best and Fairest Award. She was a member of the NSW U16 team from 2001-02 and was the team captain in 2002.

"Nicole comes from the same training center as former Cardinal All-American Pip Sanders in New South Wales, Australia. Nicole has trained under former U.S. National Coach and Australian Olympic medalist Tracey Belbin and will bring much experience and tactical knowledge with her to Louisville. Nicole's fine skill execution should complement the highly athletic hockey style of the U.S. collegiate system."
U of L finished the 2006 season with a 12-8 record and a No. 15 ranking in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll. The Cards also clinched a share of the BIG EAST regular season championship with a 5-1 record in league play.
