
Avila and Youman Selected to Womensfieldhockey.com All-American Teams

Two University of Louisville field hockey players earned Womensfieldhockey.com All-American honors. Senior midfielder Janelle Avila was selected to the second team, while freshman midfielder Nicole Youman was named to the third team.
Avila, a native of North Kingstown, R.I. (North Kingstown HS) earns the honor for the second year in a row. She also became U of L's fourth National Field Hockey Coach Association All-American. Avila is also a three-time all-West Region and all-conference first team member. The 2006 team co-captain was third on the team with 18 points (7G, 4A) in 2007 and finished her career at second on the school's career points list with 109 and is also second on the career goals list with 40.
Youman, a midfielder from Sydney Australia was also an NFHCA All-West Region selection, earned all-BIG EAST first team honors and finished her rookie season second on the team with 24 points (8G, 8A).
The Cardinals finished the 2007 season with a 14-6 overall record, including a 5-1 mark in BIG EAST Conference play, clinching a share of the regular season title along with Connecticut.
