Bush In The Cards For Louisville
August 14, 2006 | Football
New York (courtesy of CSTV.com) - A simple question was asked, and a calculated, clearly thought through answer was given.
Why, Michael Bush, Louisville's gifted running back, was asked, did you decide to come back for your senior season?
Why, after running for 1,143 yards, 23 touchdowns and leading the nation in scoring in just 10 games played, would you decide to forgo the NFL and its certain riches for another year of college?
Why would you risk your health and career for another year of college football?
There were plenty of reasons.
"All the guys that were in my class, they all jumped out and decided to leave," Bush said. "I felt like it wasn't a rush for me to come out. One more year wouldn't hurt me."
And Louisville is glad he did as Bush will return as one of the top runners in not only the Big East, but the country.
A legitimate Heisman Trophy candidate this year, Bush will very likely go down as the greatest back in Louisville history at the rate he's going.
