Dumervil Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - University of Louisville defensive end Elvis Dumervil was named the BIG EAST's Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Dumervil set a BIG EAST record and school record for sacks in a game with six, leading Louisville to a 31-24 win at Kentucky in the Cardinals' first game as a member of the BIG EAST Conference. Dumervil had a career-best 12 tackles versus the Wildcats, including seven for a loss. Five of his career-best six sacks came in the first half. Dumervil also forced a pair of fumbles and had a fumble recovery.
The Cardinals will open their home season on Saturday, September 17 when Oregon State visits Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
