
Men's Golf Receives First National Ranking

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Louisville men's golf team received its first national ranking by being ranked 25th in the GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll. The Cardinals return three starters from last year's NCAA Regional team.
Florida ranked third and is followed by UNLV, Duke and 2005 NCAA runner-up Georgia Tech. Brigham Young checked in at seventh while Wake Forest, Washington and Arizona State fill spots eight through 10.
Southern California is ranked No. 11 and is followed by Tennessee, UCLA and Georgia State. Augusta State and TCU are tied for 15th while Alabama and Clemson share No. 17. Texas and Auburn round out the top 20.
New Mexico occupied No. 21 and Arizona, Minnesota, South Carolina and Louisville round out the top 25.
The GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll is voted on by a panel of head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the Golf Coaches Association of America. The next GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll will be released Oct. 7.
