Louisville, Ky. - Adam Hadwin and Stuart Ashwood have each signed National-Letters-of-Intent with the University of Louisville's men's golf team, said head coach Mark Crabtree.
Hadwin, a 3.8 student from Abbortsford, British Columbia, was a member of 2004 Canadian National Junior team and will represent his country in 2005 World Junior Team Championships in Japan next month. He finished sixth in 2004 Canadian National Junior Amateur and won the 2004 Future Links Pacific Championship by shooting 75-65-69=209.
"Adam's a very talented and well rounded player," said Crabtree. " I was very impressed with his fundamentally sound golf swing and mature approach to the game. Adam certainly has established himself as one of the premier junior golfers in all of Canada with his present resume. I see Adam being a tremendous fit for the Cards and capable of making a huge impact next year."
Ashwood, from Northhampton, England, won Northhampton County Champion in 2004, the youngest champion ever. He was also selected to English SchoolBoys National Team, which played against Wales and Scotland.
"Stuart is coming off a tremendous year of golf in 2004 where he claimed numerous junior championship wins," said Crabtree. "He also, like Adam, is fundamentally very sound and has great instincts for the game. He has built a strong short game and that will help him initially as he adjusts to golf here in the states. This young man is going to hard to keep out of our lineup next year."
