Woo Advances in US Open Qualifier

Louisville, Ky. - Senior Charlie Woo of the University of Louisville men's golf program advanced to the sectional qualifying stage of the 2005 US Open in St. Louis, Mo.

Woo fired a 71 to finish second overall and will advance to Cleveland, Ohio, for the second round of the tournament in his attempt to qualify for the Open.

"I thought I played very today," said Woo. "I'm very pleased, but will have to continue to play better if I'm going to keep advancing."

The Cardinals advanced to their first NCAA Regional and will play in Nashville, Tenn., on May 19-21.
