Louisville, Ky. - Coming off an 11-1 season in 2004, the University of Louisville football team is ranked 12th in the recent SI.com Post-Spring Football Poll released on April 27.
The Cardinals will enter the BIG EAST Conference this season after winning three Conference USA titles, including the 2004 title in their final campaign. Louisville returns eight starters on offense and six on defense. The Cardinals return five starters on the offensive line and starting wide receivers Montrell Jones, Broderick Clark and Joshua Tinch.
Sophomore quarterback Brian Brohm was listed No. 10 on the current list of possible Heisman Trophy contenders for the 2005 season. The talented sophomore completed 66-of-98 passes last season for 819 yards in limited action, but will take over as the starter this year.
