
Men's Golf Remains in Sixth at C-USA Championships

GULFPORT, Miss. - The University of Louisville's Derek Fathauer had the top score on day two, firing a -4 under, 68 to move alone into seventh place with a two-day total of 142, but the men's golf team remained in sixth place overall at the Conference USA Men's Golf Championships in Gulfport, Miss.
Led by a pair of second round scores of 69 by Drew Stoltz and David Schultz, three-time defending champion TCU has extended its lead to a commanding 19 strokes with a two-day team total of 560. The performances of Stoltz and Schultz, along with the two-day effort of Horned Frog Colby Beckstrom, the tournament's individual leader at -6 under par, have TCU far ahead of second place Charlotte. The tournament is being played at the par-72, 7,093-yard Grand Bear Golf Club in Gulfport, Miss.
Freshman Daryl Fathauer is next for the Cards, placing in a tie for 19th overall with his rounds of 71-76=142, while senior Charlie Woo is tied for 33rd with his score of 77-75=152. Freshman Adam Rainaud is tied for 38th with his score of 153 and senior Brett Jones is at 48th, carding 78-79=157.
The final round of play begins at 7:45 a.m. CDT on Wednesday.
