
Cards' Own Top-Ranked Big East Golf Team

Louisville, Ky. - Heading into its first season in BIG EAST competition, the University of Louisville men's golf team ranks as the top program in the conference after five fall events.
The Cardinals are ranked 23rd overall and own the league's top stroke average at 288.53. Louisville won a pair of fall tournaments, joining Marquette and St. John's with a pair of fall wins.
Sophomore Derek Fathauer ranks as the league's top golfer with a national rating of 59. His 71.40 atroke average is second-best in the league behind Keegan Bradley of St. John's. Sophomore Daryl Fathauer and senior Will Hanna are eighth and ninth, respectively.
"We're excited about our program as we head into the BIG EAST," said head coach Mark Crabtree. "I think the guys have worked hard to improve and we're ready to compete in the conference."
