
Men's Golf Wins Cardinal Intercollegiate

Louisville, Ky - Led by Charlie Woo's medalist finish, the University of Louisville's men's golf team won the Cardinal Intercollegiate on Tuesday at the Cardinal Club.
It was the Cardinals first tournament win since winning the Earl Yestingmeier Invitational during the 2001-02 season. The Cardinals shot 282-280-289=851, to defeat Marquette by 20 strokes.
"I'm so pleased with the way our team played," said head coach Mark Crabtree. "We have a talented group of players and they best outstanding golf during this two-day event. The conditions were tough, but it didn't affect us today."
Woo posted a career-best finish, winning his first-ever tournament. He also was second in the first tournament of the fall in early September.
Woo shot a third-round score of 71 to finish with a 206. Derek Fathauer, who was playing as an individual was second overall with 71-66-70=207.
Daryl Fathauer and Brett Jones were tied for 6th overall with 214, while freshman Adam Rainard was tied for 13th. Brent Holmes was tied for 32nd overall for the Cardinals, shooting 76-72-77=225.
