Men's Golf Leads After First Day of Cardinal Intercollegiate

Louisville, Ky - Senior Charlie Woo of the University of Louisville men's golf team is leading after the first two rounds of the Cardinal Intercollegiate at the Cardinal Club.

The Cardinals are also leading after shooting 562, 17 strokes ahead of Marquette.

After the first two rounds, Woo holds a two stroke lead after shooting 9-under par 135. He shot 69-66 after recording 12 birdies and only tallying three bogeys.

"I thought I played great today," said Woo. "I didn't hit it well, but I tried to play as well as I could. Since I was playing well, I thought this golf course was becoming easy. I just want to come out tomorrow and take care of business."

Freshman Daryl Fathauer was third overall after firing 69-70=139. Senior Brett Jones was tied for 15th after shooting 73-72=145. Freshman Adam Rainard is tied for 21st affter a 71-75=146, while junior Brent Holmes was tied for 30th.

The third round begins Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. at the Cardinal Club.
