
U of L Releases 2004-05 Rowing Schedule

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville rowing team will compete at the prestigious Head of the Charles in Boston, Mass., on Oct. 24, as well as the Head of the Schuylkill in Philadelphia, Pa., on Oct. 30, while also hosting the annual Derby Festival Regatta as part of the 2004-05 schedule released today by head coach Richard Ruggieri. The Cardinal crew, which will open the 2004 fall slate on Saturday, Sept. 11 at Murray State, will host the 4th Annual Derby Festival Regatta on Saturday, April 30 at the U of L Boathouse in Louisville. "I'm very excited about our upcoming race schedule," said Ruggieri, who enters his fifth season at U of L. "We have continued to enhance our schedule each year and it certainly has made us a better team. We welcome the challenge and look forward to continuing our movement forward at Louisville." The 2004-05 schedule also includes races at the Head of the Licking on Sept. 25, the Head of the Eagle on Oct. 23, the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships on April 16-17 and the NCAA Central Regional on May 14-15, as well as head-to-head races against Indiana (Oct. 9), Minnesota (March 13), Tennessee (March 26) and a quad meet with Notre Dame, Purdue and Indiana (April 9). The Cards will also travel to Tampa, Fla., for a winter training trip on Dec. 15-23.
