LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - The University of Louisville field hockey team will hold an alumnae scrimmage on Saturday, August 21 at noon at Trager Stadium. A reception will immediately follow the game. "We look forward to our alumnae game each August," said head coach Pam Bustin. "It is a great opportunity for the current team members to meet those who contributed to the program before them. It is also a wonderful way for the former players to familiarize themselves with our new Cardinals! I personally look forward to the event because it allows us, to catch up with all of the extraordinary women who have worn the University of Louisville uniform, many who played for me and others who have become great friends and supporters of our program. Our alumnae also provide excellent competition for our team as we prepare for another exciting season. It is a great way to see our current team work together and fine tune their performance. There is always a lot of CARDINAL PRIDE at Trager Stadium on Alumnae Game Day!"" The Cardinals will open the season at Michigan State, where they will face 2003 NCAA runner-up Duke on Saturday, August 28 at 11:30 a.m. U of L's home opener will be against Indiana on Friday, Sept. 17 at 3:00 p.m. Louisville finished the 2003 season with a 13-10 record after winning the Mid-American Conference tournament and earning the program's first NCAA bid. Any former players wishing to participate in the game or attend the cookout, please contact assistant coach Christy Utter at 852-7795.
