University of Louisville softball player Aja Sherman earned Conference USA Player of the week honors for the period ending May 2 and for the third time this season.
The junior from Las Vegas registered her third no-hitter of the year in Louisville's 1-0 win over Evansville last Tuesday. Only three other players in league history have thrown as many no-hitters in a single season. It also marked the fourth of her career. During the contest, Sherman struck out 11 to match a career-high. The shutout marked the 16th for U of L, a program record.
U of L (39-12) will travel to Evansville to play the Aces (38-16) in a single game on Wednesday, May 5 at 7:00 p.m. The Cardinals need one more win to tie the school record for wins set in the2001 season. Louisville will close out the regular season with a three-game C-USA series at Southern Miss May 8-9.
