Men's Golf Stands in Seventh Place After Two Rounds

Lexington, Ky. - LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's golf team stands in seventh place after the first two rounds of the 18th annual Johnny Owens Invitational. The tournament, which is being played at the University Club of Kentucky, began at 8 a.m., Friday morning with temperatures in the low 30s, winds gusting to 15 mph, and light rain.
Eastern Kentucky battled through the inclement weather conditions to post a 294 in the first round, followed by a tournament-best 285 in the second round to lead after the first day. .
Junior Charlie Woo is in 18th place after shooting 79-74=153. Sophomore Brent Holmes and senior Matt Bascom are tied for 23rd place after eaching carding 154.
Junior Brett Jones stands in a tie for 41st with 157 and Will Hanna is in a tie for 50th at 158.
The final 18 holes of the Johnny Owens Invitational are set to tee off at 8 a.m. at the University Club of Kentucky on the Big Blue course. The event is open to the public and admission is free.
