Manning Signs With Louisville Football

Louisville, Ky. - Davis Manning of Grissom High School in Huntsville, Ala., has signed a national-letter-of-intent with the University of Louisville. Manning is the 24th member of the 2004 Cardinal recruiting class.
Manning, a 6-5, 210-pounder, was a two-year starter at Grissom High School, throwing for 3,238 yards and 23 touchdowns over the last two seasons.
As a senior last year, Manning completed 131-of-244 passes for 1,613 yards and 13 touchdowns. He was voted the Offensive Player of the Year in the Metro Area and earned honorable mention All-State accolades. He was listed as one of the top three quarterbacks in the Southeast.
As a junior, Manning threw for 1,625 yards in leading Grissom to a 9-3 record and a trip to the state playoffs.
Manning won't enroll at Louisville until January of 2005.
