Men's Golf Finishes 10th at Matlock

Junior Brett Jones finished in a tie for 14th place as the University of Louisville opened the 2004 spring men's golf season with a tenth place finish at the Matlock Invitational in Lakeland, Fla., on Tuesday.
Jones, who was in second place after the first day, shot a 77 to finish with a score of 218. Greg Koch of Florida Southern shot 5-under 211 to win medalist honors. The University of Memphis won the two-day event.
Freshman Michael Giammaresi finished in a tie for 23rd place with72-75-76=223, while Brent Holmes moved into a tie for 32nd place by carding 75-75-74=224.
Freshman Mark Conlon tied for 58th with a 77-76-77=230 while junior Charlie Woo shot 79-78-74=231 to end the tournament in 62nd place.
The Cardinals will compete at the Seminole Invitational on March 1-2.
