Newcomb Sign's With Cardinal Golf

Nicklaus Newcomb of Benton, Ky. has signed a national-letter-of-intent with the University of Louisville men's golf, head coach Mark Crabtree announced on Wednesday.
Newcomb lost in a playoff at the 2004 Kentucky State High School Championship, shooting 138, which is the lowest score in Kentucky state high school history.
Newcomb, a member of the 2004 All-State team, placed seventh at the 2004 Press Thornton Future Masters and was 13th at the 2004 Bubba Conlee Junior, shooting 65 in 2nd round. He was a runner-up at the 2004 USGA Junior Amateur Qualifying in KY.
"I am very pleased to have Nick joining our program," said Crabtree. "He is certainly one of elite young players in the state of Kentucky and this part of the country. He has a proven state and national record and a very promisingcollege career."
