
Hershey Named MAC Field Hockey Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - - University of Louisville field hockey player Christy Hershey was named Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 7.
The senior goalkeeper from Palmyra, Pa., posted three saves before the Cards suffered a 2-1 overtime loss to Boston University and registered three stops in Louisville's 5-0 win against Massachusetts. Hershey posted a 1.24 goals-against average over the weekend. The shutout was the first of the season for Hershey who owns the school record for career shutouts with 20.5.
U of L (2-2) will play host to 2002 NCAA semifinalist Michigan State on Friday at 3 p.m. at Trager Stadium.
