Louisville, Ky. - University of Louisville linebacker Robert McCune was honored as the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

The 6-1 junior registered a game-high 17 tackles, including 13 solo stops in Louisville's 21-12 win over Temple. He had one tackle for a loss and a sack as the Cardinals held the Owls to just 53 yards rushing on 30 carries.

He leads the team with 48 total tackles and ranks third in the league in that category.The Mobile, Ala. native on pace to record more than 140 tackles, which would place him in the top 10 in school history for tackles in a season.
